The Foundation agility class is designed for any dogs six months of age or older and starting new in agility. Class training elements will include:
– Emphasizing introduction to flatwork and reinforcing handler teamwork
– Basic skills with jumps (without bars and low bars), tunnels, and weave poles
– Introduction to contact obstacles on the ground will provide dogs a familiarization to the obstacles in a safe manner.
Emphasis is placed upon creating a confident introduction to agility equipment along with creating teamwork between canine and handler. Designed for on-lead handling as needed.
Teams will be expected to train three to four days outside of class time to benefit from the training session.
No prerequisites are required, but it is recommended the dogs have been through a Beginner level obedience training class which will assist with teamwork and building solid connections with the handler and hander cues.
Three forms are required for registration: 1) Registration Form; 2) Personal Liability Waiver; and 3) Canine Aggression Policy. Links to the forms will be provided during the class registration process.
