The Advanced Competition Class will be for dogs either actively competing at the Open/Excellent level or those preparing for a transition to higher competition level training. Class components will focus on Master/Excellent and Premier level type sequences and work on drills to build handling skills for more complex sequences. Will also individualize training as able based upon individual goals.
Skills will work toward:
– Increased distance work based upon a handler’s goals
– Increasing independent weave pole performance and weave pole entrance challenges
– Obstacle discrimination drills
– Refining and improving handling skills for side changes, identifying efficient dog paths, and reinforcing physical cues versus verbal cues
Dogs need to be confident and proficient for all agility equipment and obstacles.
As part of the Advanced Competition Agility Class, teams will be able to submit trial run videos or trial course maps and be provided a review and feedback for the submission request.
An additional competition level training class will be offered during mid-day hours to accommodate those interested in a training class during the day. The daytime class will have an emphasis toward Open/Excellent level sequences (as described above), but will be adjusted since the class can have a combination of competition level training needs.
Three forms are required for registration: 1) Registration Form; 2) Personal Liability Waiver; and 3) Canine Aggression Policy. Links to the forms will be provided during the class registration process.
